Its front side recently
renovated into a veritable castle, inside you'll find friendly owners,
cozy quarters, and all the M & Ms you'd care to eat. |
Re-visit the 50s with
lounge music, blended and ice cream drinks, a drink menu that begs you not
to steal it as a souvenir, and dim lighting
at the coolest place in
town. |
It's a bar on the ground
floor and a karate academy on the top level. Go for the pitchers of fine
German tap beers sometimes under 8$, and go for the authentic German feast
complete with Sauerbraten on Saturday mornings. |

One of the contenders for
largest local beer selections is little more than a hole in the wall but
somehow manages to feel very German with its authentic sausage platters. |
With two levels and hidden
corners, live jazz and trendy appetizers, the place screams
"class". One of the reasons for Brady Street's revival. |
An old-fashioned stage and
center bar and balcony compliment the intimate settings in this East side
establishment, the best local place to catch a live band. |

Hard to find, yes, but worth
at least one trip. This bar in a train car transports you back to the
1950s complete with an odd "The Shining" like atmosphere. |
Three underground
bars, a bowling alley, pool tables and drink specials make this both an
enormous and interesting dive. That nothing seems to have changed since
the 40s enhances the place. |
This Eastside landmark
recreates a German beer hall in a smaller setting. High ceilings and an
outdoor serving area in add a nice touch, but the authentic looking back
room is what really sets it apart. |
